About Us

Who We Are
Amnesty International Asia Pacific Regional Office was established in June 1997 in Hong Kong. It is one of the regional offices of Amnesty International (AI).

Our Mission
Facing new human rights challenges, AI has expanded this mandate over the years to encompass human rights abuses committed by nongovernment bodies and private individuals (non-state actors).

How We Work
Our main activities are to research and publicize information about human rights violations. Our members, supporters and staff mobilize the public to put pressure on governments and other with influence to stop the abuses.

Our Guiding principles
All our work is guided by the principles of international solidarity, effective action for the individual victim, global coverage, universality and indivisibility of human rights, impartiality and independence, and democracy and mutual respect.

Join Us As Volunteers
