Energetic youth leaders in Korea felt inspired after the workshop©AI Korea
Aha! It’s not about age, it is the total number of the new youth leaders in AI Korea this year! 35 seems not a lot, but it is an encouraging achievement to AI Korea, who only started focusing on youth activism about a year ago.
To better equip these new leaders, AI Korea invited them to a two-day leadership workshop from 24th to 25th February 2006. Lecture-like sessions and discussions on human rights were included to give these young leaders more insight and understanding on the current human rights issues that AI is campaigning on. Some of the former youth leaders also came to the workshop to share their previous experiences. These new leaders felt connected when learning that similar challenges were faced by others before.
Different useful tips and skills were shared and introduced day and night, formally and informally during the workshop. The participants also appreciated the opportunity to do some networking with other youth leaders in different areas and were encouraged to know that they are actually working together like a team. After the workshop, most of the participants said they were inspired and felt connected, they felt more confident in promoting human rights to others and the team is looking forward to turn 36…43…781…9999…
